Guidelines

Insurance licensees are responsible for following the Insurance Council's Rules and Code of Conduct. To help further support licensees in meeting their regulatory and licensing requirements, the Insurance Council publishes guidelines that provide guidance and set out practice and conduct expectations for licensees when carrying out certain activities.

Below is a list of current guidelines published by the Insurance Council of BC. Licensees have a duty to stay up-to-date and informed of their obligations and are encouraged to check this page for updates.

As well as guidelines, practice advisory notices are also released periodically to alert licensees to relevant practice matters and may be found here on our website.
