LLQP Exam Schedules and Cost

Before you choose your LLQP exam date for an in-person exam sitting, please refer to the scheduling and fee information below. As we regularly update the information in this section, please check back often to ensure you have the most current schedule and fee information.

You can schedule the LLQP exam through the Insurance Council's online portal. You can only schedule an exam after submitting registration.

Examination fees are forfeited if the examinee fails to reschedule a scheduled examination before its rescheduling deadline. See the Exam Schedules for change deadlines.

Examination fees are forfeited if the examinee fails to attend a scheduled examination. If the examinee is unable to attend a scheduled exam due to a medical reason, they may reschedule their exam by submitting a written request along with a doctor’s note to the Examinations team for consideration.

*Proctor fee applies to exams written in Cranbrook, Kelowna and Victoria, and is determined by the individual test centre, and is paid directly to the test centre.

Examination registration fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and expire one year after registration.

Exams within Metro Vancouver (Vancouver and Surrey)

  • Insurance Council-administered exams in Vancouver and Surrey may be rescheduled or cancelled before the scheduled exam date's rescheduling deadline via your online portal account.

  • See the Surrey Exam Schedule for schedule and deadline dates in Surrey.

  • Do not contact the Vancouver and Surrey testing locations regarding your exams. 

  • Exam fees will be forfeited if you are unable to attend an exam and do not reschedule or cancel before the deadline.

Exams Outside of Metro Vancouver

Exams in Prince George

  • Insurance Council-administered exams in Prince George may be rescheduled or cancelled before the scheduled exam date's rescheduling deadline.

  • To reschedule/cancel your exam date, you must notify the Insurance Council of the cancellation by cancelling the exam(s) through your online portal account and notify the Insurance Council's Examinations team via email at examinations@insurancecouncilofbc.com.

  • Do not contact the Prince George testing location regarding your exams. 
    Exam fees will be forfeited if you are unable to attend an exam and do not reschedule or cancel before the deadline.

Exams in Other BC Regions Outside of  Metro Vancouver 

  • Exams in Other BC Regions Outside of Metro Vancouver may be rescheduled or cancelled at least 14 calendar days before the scheduled exam. 

  • Proctor rescheduling fees may apply as determined by the individual test centre, please review the test centre’s terms and policies for their rescheduling/cancellation procedure.

  • To reschedule/cancel your exam date, you must contact the test centre directly to do so. 

  • You must also notify the Insurance Council of the cancellation by cancelling the exam(s) through your online portal account and notify the Insurance Council's Examinations team via email at examinations@insurancecouncilofbc.com.

  • Exam fees paid to the Insurance Council will be forfeited if you are unable to attend an exam and notice of cancellation is not provided at least 14 calendar days before the scheduled exam.  

Please Note: Only the examinee is authorized to reschedule or cancel their exam sitting. Third parties (managers, employers, etc.) cannot reschedule or cancel an exam on your behalf.

All Insurance Licensing Fees Overview

The Insurance Council is mandated by the BC Government to regulate the conduct of insurance intermediaries, and derives all funding for its regulatory work, licensing, and oversight activities for insurance intermediaries in the province of BC through fees collected from the industry, under the authority of the Financial Institutions Act.

Fees can be paid online via the Insurance Council portal by credit card (Visa or Mastercard or Amex) or Canadian debit card. Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) is only available for a minimum of 40 licence renewal bulk payments by corporations.
